We totally understand that children become ill and if this is the case, please call the school office as early as possible to let us know.

Free School Meals

Free school meals are available to all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.

They are also available for some older children according to their family income. It is important to register for entitlement to free school meals, even if your child has a packed lunch or is in a younger class – this is so we can receive additional funding (called the Pupil Premium) which we can use to help your child.

Children are entitled to Free School Meals if their parents, carers or guardians receive any of the following:

  • Income support
  • Income-based job seekers allowance
  • Income-related employment and support allowance
  • Guarantee pension credit
  • Child Tax Credit, but not Working Tax Credit, and an annual income lower than the limit set by the Government
  • Working Tax Credit Run On because you have ceased work or reduced your working hours to less than 16 per week

School Meals are £2.50 a day or £12.50 a week. Please ask at the office for more information about ways to pay.

Comment from Ofsted

“The special educational needs coordinator also leads the speech and language resource provision. She ensures that pupils are fully supported to be integrated into the regular classrooms and to make the same good progress as their peers.”

At West Green we believe that our school uniform is an important part of our identity. It reinforces who we are as a community and helps us all to feel pride in our school. When pupils feel this pride, they are more likely to take pride in their work, their learning and their good behaviour choices.

We expect every child at West Green to wear the correct school uniform EVERY DAY.
