Year Six Reading For The Day – 16/06/20

Morning Everyone,

I hope you’re all enjoying the book as much as we are.  I think it really makes you think about how painful interactions can be with others if we feel different, unwanted and disliked.  Even as an adult, it has really made me think about the way I look at others and myself.

 

Here is the new chapter and questions to be answered.

LO:  To answer a range of questions in relation to the text

 

Success criteria:

  1. I can underline the key words in the question.
  2. I can identify the key information in the text.
  3. I can answer the question using evidence when required.

 

 Chapter 5 Questions:

  1. What did Auggie spot out the window when the car pulled up?
  2. What do you think the dad means when he says ‘Sending him off to middle school like a lamb to the slaughter?’
  3. What was the principle impressed about when his mum called him to talk about Auggie?
  4. Why do you think they wait so long to tell Auggie about going to school? Explain your answer fully.
  5. What did the mum say she saw on the tour that she thought might excite Auggie?
  6. Describe how you think the mood has changed at the end of the chapter and what caused it to.  Please provide evidence to back up your point.
