YEAR 5 AND 6 MATHS PUZZLE OF THE WEEK – STAFF WELCOME TOO!

Good day!

First of all we think congratulations are in order for Rumen and Allana who were the first ones to figure out the previous maths puzzle! As Rumen quite rightly points out, the blue flower only had four petals in the final maths sentence and so only had a value of 4. Therefore it was

1 + 20 x 4 = 81

First of all you have to see how many triangles are in this shape:

And then let us know how many squares you can see in this shape:

Take your time with this as there are more than you think on both of them!

How many squares are there?

EDIT

This is the final one now that you have successfully counted the shapes in the previous ones:

How many triangles can you see?

Once you have done that then draw your own diagram where we have to try to spot how many hidden shapes there are! If you send it to admin@westgreen.haringey.sch.uk then there is a chance that we will post it on here and let everyone else have a go at your challenge.

We are looking forward to seeing all of your answers!

GOOD LUCK!

My Spours and Patrick
