It’s another Thursday, which can only mean one thing…
Our competition so far has been very close. I’ve shown you videos from the East of Scotland, the South of Wales, the Causeway Coast in Northern Ireland and the Yorkshire coast in England. This week’s video is very close to London.
We’re off to the Sussex Coast today which is where you will find Brighton and Eastbourne. You can get to Brighton on the train in only an hour from London. This video is extremely different to the other videos. How is life different in Brighton or Eastbourne compared to the other videos?

An important part of the video was Brighton Pier. A pier is a long, straight and narrow structure that goes out into the sea. People walk on the top of it to enjoy great views, fresh air and to have fun. Piers like the one in Brighton are filled with places to eat, games to play and even rollercoasters!
I want you to write in the comments a few sentences explaining what you would do at Brighton Pier.
“If I went to Brighton Pier, I would…” “I would also…” “The last thing I would do is…”
That would be a wonderful day out!
Do you think Brighton is more fun for children than some of the other places you’ve seen in videos?
If I went to Brighton Pier, I would ride the rollercoasters. I would also go to the beach and eat ice-cream. The last thing I would do is go on the bus around Brighton.
I would ride the rollercoasters too. My favourite ice cream flavour is honeycomb, I’d definitely be hoping to enjoy some!
Do you think elderly people would enjoy Brighton more than some of the other places you’ve seen in videos?
If I went to Brighton Pier, I would go on roller coasters and all the fun rides.
I would also have fun with my family in the arcade area.
The last thing I would do is eat ice cream and candyfloss with my brother.
Thank you.
If I went to Brighton Pier, I would go on all the rides in the funfair. I would also love to go for a walk at the beach. The last thing I would do is go to a restaurant and eat delicious foods.
Hi Dila! Your sentences are very good. Try to write the same sentence down neatly on a line.
If I went to Brighton Pier, I would see waterfalls. I would also see the art galleries. For example ,Brighton Museum and Art Gallery. The last thing I would do is visit a park.
Where would you see the waterfalls? I don’t think there are any natural ones in Brighton!
You’ll find waterfalls falling from the top of cliffs, or inland along some rivers.
If I went to Brighton Pier, I would eat ice cream. I would also go to the funfair. The last thing I would do is play games.
If I went to Brighton Pier, I would definitely walk around the town and see some attractions.
I would also look for some shops to go shopping for toys then have some lunch. After that I would love to have a Bubblegum flavoured ice-cream.
The last thing I would do is visit the funfair and go on all the fun rides.
This beach is extremely different from the previous videos. This is a very crowded place. Very less with nature. The air must be polluted. Lots of plastic and other rubbish items can be found.
This was a very good observation! In some ways this place is more fun, but in some ways it is also worse.
Hi Mr Morgan and Year 2 – I went to Brighton at the weekend, I walked along the beach. It was very, very windy and the sea was very rough with big waves!
Sorry Vihansa – I only just saw this! On the day I went, the weather was not so good so the beach was very empty and also very clean! I only saw a few people walking on the beach. Did you see the news from a couple of weeks ago when Bournemouth beach was packed full of people and so much rubbish was left behind? That made me feel sad because we should always look after our environment!!
