Hello Year Six,
I hope you’ve had a good break, were able to enjoy some of the beautiful weather, but are staying safe and sensible. I would love to hear what some of you have been up to to keep busy, be creative and have fun in the comments box below.
As we head into this final half term it is crucial we set about trying to get you set for secondary school. Whatever happens over the next period, whether you’re at home or back in school, it is essential that you’re taking part, so we can keep those brains working and not allow all your hard work to slip away. Sadly, there are still many pupils doing very little work, even though it’s being set online. Please try your best to be visiting MyMaths, Purple Mash and Rockstar Times tables daily, alongside some reading and writing.
Well done to Julio, Rumen, Yusra for having a go at the Purple Mash work. Even bigger shout out to Victoria who completed all the tasks set.
Also well done to Nuno, Victoria, Shahd, Rayyan and Mudalib who have been doing there MyMaths this last week.
MyMaths for the week:
Task 1 – Dividing decimals by whole numbers – this is a recap to check you’re still using the bus shelter method – remember that lining the decimal point up is key!
Task 2 – Multiplying fractions – don’t be confused by the layout of the activity – it the middle fraction times each one of them around the edge. Just remember your method, multiply the numerators, then the denominators.
Task 3 – The final task is a mixture of fractions, decimals and percentages, this is a real test of your memory in terms of skills. If you don’t understand some of it, dip into your revision books to remind you.
Keep an eye out for more purple mash tasks – PLEASE IF YOU HAVEN’T LOGGED ONTO IT, HAVE A GO!
Please email me if you’re having any problems with the home learning.
