Good afternoon all!
I hope you all had a relaxing half term break and enjoyed some time in the sun admiring all the lovely plants and flowers!
Welcome to summer 2! I can’t believe it is the last term of the year! ðŸ˜
I thought I would challenge you to a maths puzzle.
Read the instructions carefully!
You can email your answers or post on the blog.
Have fun and keep safe!😊
Miss Essor
Great job Vihansa!
It was definitely a different type of challenge. Sometimes questions like this writing thing on paper might help or doing some drawings to help represent the question!
I like your use of multiplication to solve this!
Great job 😊
Hi.
I found 2 solutions.
9×3=27
2×5=10
10+27=37
9 tricycles and 2 go-carts.
4×3=12
5×5=25
12+25=37
4 tricycles and 5 go-carts.
Thank you.
Hi Aaron!
Great job again using multiplication in this question!
The two ways are:
1) 5 go-carts x 5 wheels =25 wheels + 4 tricycles x 3 wheels = 12 wheels = total: 37 wheels.
2) 5 go- carts x 2 wheels = 10 wheels+ 9 tricycles x 3 wheels = 27 wheels = total: 37 wheels
1. 5 go-carts(5×5=25) and 4 tricycles(3×4=12),25+12=37.
2. 9 tricycles (9×3=27) and 2 go-carts (2×5=10),27+10=37.
Hi. I have found two ways.
1.(9 tricycles) 3×9= 27. (2 go carts) 5×2= 10
10+27= 37 wheels
2. (4 Tricycles) 3×4=12. (5 go carts) 5×5= 25
12+25= 37 wheels
This maths was a bit difficult but fun doing.
I’m glad you found it a fun challenge! We’ll be working more on the 3x table in Year 3, so I hope you’ve been practising your 2x, 5x and 10x tables at home!
Don’t forget to use Times Tables Rockstars everyone!
1- 5 go-carts and 3-tricycles
(5×5 )= 25 , (3×4)= 12.
25+12= 37 wheels
2- 2 go-carts and 9 tricycles.
(5×2)= 10 . (9×3) =27 .
10+27 = 37wheels .

Hi Miss Essor, This number puzzle was little bit challenging. The answers are:
1. 5 Go carts and 4 tricycles. (5×5 =25) + (3×4=12) . If you add 25 and 12, altogether 37 wheels.
OR
2.9 Tricycles and 2 Go carts. (3×9 =27) + (5×2) = 10). If you add 27 and 10 altogether 37 wheels.
