Jazz for Kids – Saturday 25th April @ 2:00pm

Hello Everyone!

I don’t know about you but I am missing music – I’m particularly missing Tuesdays. One of my favourite things at West Green is hearing all of your lovely singing voices in the hall while I’m working in my office. I’ve been singing some of the songs Jeannie has been posting in her blogs but also looking for other music too. Normally I try to go to a few concerts during the year. I especially love trying out new music. Sometimes I find a new artist or genre of music that I didn’t know I liked but now love!

Music also has quite a special place in History. Often in troubled times people turned to music to lift their spirits and to communicate with each other. There are many examples of songs from the Underground Railroad or songs from the war that do just this. Music can also be used to calm someone, like in a lullaby or just to bring people together!

With all of this in mind, I saw this and thought some of you might want to give it a go. The Royal Albert Hall is a very famous music venue in London, some of you may have been there before to perform. They are offering free music for you to see in your home. This is amazing!!!

This one in particular is a Jazz session. I challenge you all to give it a go – even if it’s not something you normally listen to. You might end up surprised! If you like it, or want to try more music keep an eye on the website as I’m sure they will be offering more free events.

Miss you all! – Miss. S
