Hello Year 6’s! Who’s there?

Good morning to my wonderful year 6’s!  Mr Spours here,

I hope you’re continuing to support your families at home and you’re are all doing well.  Once again, I want to say how proud I am of how brilliant you’ve been in handling all of it – everyone at school was blown away by your resilience, maturity and attitude last week – well done!

It’s been a full week now in our current situation and been very strange not seeing you all, I thought today would be a good day to try and see who is logging on to the web page so we can keep in touch!  I will also give you a clear idea of all the work options you have available to you for the week and things to look out for.

Task 1:

To try and see how many of you are going online and using the website I would like you to leave a comment under this blog post.  Please just put your name and maybe tell me one thing you’ve done to keep your learning going this last week.  I am not 100% sure if you need an email account or not to post a comment (I know many of you have one anyway for the social media apps you are not meant to be on!!!)  If not, I have seen some of the younger children have posted using someone else’s in their home – remember, its just to help me know who is logging in.

Task 2:

Please read through the options below so you know the options available to you for working at home.

  • On the main page of the website under Home Learning – there is a scheme of work designed to help you and parents with lots of activities to choose from, that last 7 weeks.
  • On our class page I have set you various activities to be doing in terms of reading, writing and maths under updates/home learning.
  • If you haven’t started yet, please check out the year 5/6 writing competition on our class page, submissions need to be made by Wednesday – we must beat them!
  • If you do not have regular access to the internet, please use the packs that were prepared for you, which also contain a pupil mark scheme so you can check it yourself!
  • Many of you also have your revision packs that you bought from school.
  • MyMaths has also been set, two activities for the week, will set more for Easter break.
  • You also all now have logins for Rockstar times tables on our class page, please login and have a play – I’ve set activities for you to do.
  • Finally, this is a perfect opportunity to be reading regularly.  Please think about helping your adults at home by reading to your brothers and sisters as well.

Okay my lovely people, please try and put a comment under this blog so I know you’re logging in!

Missing you all,

Mr Spours
