Converting Measures in Year 5
We have been extremely busy in year 5 – getting used to a new teacher, starting our new topic (crime and punishment) and going on a trip! Our main focus in maths has been converting different units of measure. We used our skills in multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 to allow us to convert between the measures related to length, weight and capacity. To show we really understand it, we have applied our methods to word problems that were initially tricky, but we are getting more confident all the time.
