Since we left school, I have been baking lots and lots and I thought I would share some of my recipes and you can share yours.

Last week, I baked bread.

1 cup of warm milk
1 cup of warm water
3 cups of flour
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 tablespoon of salt
1 tablespoon of oil
Seeds (optional)


Take a small bowl, put the yeast, sugar, milk and water. Mix with a spoon and then leave it on the side for a few minutes.

Sift the flour in to a separate bowl (the largest bowl you have), add salt, oil and the mixture from the small bowl and the seeds if you want. Mix with a wooden spoon. Leave it on the side for 1 hour, covering the mixture with a kitchen towel, cloth or cling film.

NB. Check on the dough, as it will expand. You may need to place the dough in a larger bowl or saucepan.

Then place it in an oven- proof dish and place it on the bottom shelf in the oven. Make sure to take out the other trays as the dough will rise.

Then, place it in the oven for 15 mins in 200 degrees. After 15 minutes, turn the temperature down to 180 degrees and leave it in for 1 hour.
