You know how there is a home learning page for Year 5 & 6,it mentioned some kind of spelling website called Spelling Frame and it asks for our login. Are you going to give the class their usernames after the easter holiday?
I am not sure- I do know that certain features can be accessed without a username and password such as the spelling tiles and the practice/tests so for the time being just focus on them.
Hello Patrick I wanted to say I want to read more books online but I don’t know a website to read on can you please send me a website?
Hi Sara,
Good job reading all those books! If you want more you can get ebooks then you can go to https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/. They are all primary school ages and have some good selections.
Otherwise, you can listen to audiobooks on https://stories.audible.com/start-listen?ref=adbl_ent_anon_ds_hm_hb
If you have a library card you can download ebooks and audiobooks from their website- https://www.haringey.gov.uk/libraries-sport-and-leisure/libraries/ebooks-and-audiobooks
I think there is a good amount there but there is also this website with other suggestions (and potentially better ones)- https://www.tckpublishing.com/free-ebooks-for-kids/
In fact, the last one has some of the ones I’ve suggested anyway. I will do a post later today with more suggestions! Let me know if they are any good and take care!
Hey Patrick,I was just wondering if I could get some help from you in order to be able to use the online book website/s.
Hi Sophia! You will have to set up an account using an email on a lot of them (ask your parents to do this) and then you should be able to browse through following the links.
For example, on ‘Oxford Owls’, you can go to this section https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/pages/library-page?view=image&query=&type=book&age_group=Age+9-11&level=&level_select=&book_type=&series=# but to access Treasure Island, you will have to have an account- it says ‘join us’ at the top of the page. It would be best for your parents to set up an account where it is needed as they will have email addresses to do so.
Have a look through the available books and see- at the very least it is there as an audio book.
Newsflash! My sister won the Year 3&4 Spring Poem Competition and she is getting a prize in a few days! How cool is cool is that!
Patrick,I was just wondering if we could have a baking competition where our parents (aka the children’s parents) are the judges. The winning family asks Jenny for a prize that will be sent to them by post. How does that sound?
I do like baking, however I think we have only the prizes for the writing competition. Keep your eyes on this blog because another one will be coming out and if you want the prize then you’ll have to email your story in!
Please feel free to send us picture of cakes anyway!
I might make a cake tomorrow and I’ll try to send a few photos to you.
