Good day all,
Thank you for having a go at the triangle problems yesterday! The answer (which Yi Sheng managed to get) is below:
There were 18!
I am posting a simpler one today so if you want to figure it out yourself then don’t look in the comments!
How many triangles can you see?
I would also like you to post some interesting facts about the seven continents of the world! What are they? Which is biggest? What interesting features makes each one unique? Post you facts below!
Finally, there has been a dip in participation with the MyMaths this week- I know it it early but by now we normally have a lot more completed tasks so please go and have a look at the activity. I look forward to the comments about the work and if you have anything that you want to ask then please also feel free to comment.
Take care,
Patrick

Yes there is! Good job!
I’m looking forward to seeing what facts you find about the continents!
Is it 5?
Facts about the seven continents.
1. Asia is the largest continent.
2.The seven continents are Europe,Asia,Africa,Oceania,North America,South America and Antarctica.
3.Asia has the largest population.
4.Europe is the wealthiest and richest continent.
Correct. Well done again! Thank for those facts as well. How many people do live in Asia?
Brilliant Yi Sheng- would I be correct in saying that over half the population of Earth resides in Asia?
asia
1.there are 48 countries in asia
2.they are more that 4.4 billion people in asia
africa
1. is the world hottest contient and the worlds second driest contient
2.in africa, over 25 million have died of the disease already
europe
1.they are 50 countries in europe.
2.the volga river in russia is europes longest river it is 3692km/2295 miles long.
Wow- you have done a lot of good work Weda. If the volga river is the longest in Europe, what is the longest river in the world?
australia
1.they are roughly 24 million people.
2.they christian
north america
1.they are christian
2.there are over half a billion people in all of north america
Well done Weda. What countries would I be able to visit if I went to North America?
HMM I THINK Antigua, barbuda, bahamas, barbados, belize, canada, costa rica, cuba and dominica I think you are gonna visit all of these countries in north America.
That’s a good point. Although the majority of the population are Christian, not everyone is. Like every country or continent there is a certain amount of diversity.
Can you tell me what diversity means?
And diverse means showing a great deal of variety;very different.
I’m struggling so much to do my Mymaths Homework I can’t even fill in the whole task on page 1.
If you are not confident with it then use a method of your choosing. Long multiplication should be alright
P1)The seven continents of the world are:
1)Europe
2)Asia
3)North America
4)South America
5)Australasia (Oceania)
6)Africa
7)Antarctica
P2)The biggest continent of the world is Asia and it is 44,391,162 square kilometres.
P3(1))The richest continent is Europe but that doesn’t mean that all countries there are super rich, especially in the east.
2)The poorest continent is Africa because many of the poorest countries are there. However, that doesn’t include Zimbabwe.
3)Believe it or not,Antarctica is the smartest continent. They are proven to have the highest average IQ (Intelligence Quotient) of any continent.
4)Surprisingly,even if Africa is the poorest continent in the world,it is also the most beautiful because of its cities, natural wonders and wonderful wildlife.
Those were my facts.I hope you liked them.
I very much did Sophia- you’ve gone above and beyond and I’m very pleased! That Antarctica fact is fascinating as well.
Oh,by the way,I don’t know where to use long multiplication to solve it.Its very complicated and it isn’t as easy as it is at school.I’m starting to feel stressed.
If you can use a piece of paper then that should do the trick. Give it a go and if it ends up being too stressful then please don’t worry Sophia. I know that you have given it a good go!
